Thank you for visiting my website
Seeking support for the challenges of our lives can be daunting. I endeavour to create a space which is warm, empathic and free of any judgement for you to safely explore your feelings, emotions, thoughts and behaviours.
I believe that we all hold in ourselves the capacity for change and that an environment of acceptance and warmth can facilitate the change you desire. To be listened to without judgement, to be truly heard is very powerful.
“People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying, "Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner." I don't try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.”
― Carl R. Rogers, A Way of Being

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also call me on 07774254905 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.

This very much depends on the individual. In some situations a few sessions may be all you need to help with the issue you have come to counselling about , however it maybe that longer term counselling is necessary. I tend to review with you after approximately 6 weeks as to whether you are getting what you need from our sessions.
It is preferable for sessions to be once per week.
The theory of the Person-Centred Approach , is that the focus is on the person or client themselves. No matter what the painful feelings or relationship troubles the overall question one may be struggling with is how to be oneself. Therefore whatever the issue causing distress, be it stress, anxiety, depression, relationships, substance abuse, addiction, trauma, loneliness, counselling from from a Person- Centered basis can be helpful.
All that you share with me during our sessions is held confidential. I may share information as
part of the supervision process with my supervisor who is also registered with the BACP. Any notes containing sensitive information will be store securely for a period of 5 years, and thereafter disposed of securely in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR. There are however some exceptions to the above and confidentiality may have to be breached if I considered you or someone else were at risk of serious harm, legally required to do so, in connection with money laundering, drug trafficking , terrorism and if order by a Court of Law.
However as much as I am able, I would dis cuss this disclosure with you beforehand.
I usually see over 18's , on an individual basis.
I work from therapy rooms based in Brighton and Hove.
69 Church Road Hove BN3 2BB and 9a Princes Street Brighton BN2 1RD
In addition to providing face-to-face therapy, I also offer telephone counselling and online sessions via Zoom or Skype.
